Our Special Interest Group (SIG) addresses the interests of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) practitioners involved in transnational education (TNE) settings. TNE is a large, complex, and growing area of EAP activity; however, it offers unique challenges as well as opportunities.
Colleagues involved in this sector operate within one or several of the many models of TNE delivery. They may feel isolated from a ‘parent’ institution or that they are being pulled in multiple directions – geographically, institutionally, pedagogically, and culturally. The aim of the SIG is therefore to provide a TNE-focused forum that reaches members around the world and encourages the sharing of ideas, expertise, and activities. This website, our regular events and our social media activities are our principal platforms for meeting that aim.
If you are a BALEAP member, you can join our SIG by subscribing to the JISC Discussion List (link). You can also follow the website directly by subscribing below, or click on the icons to see us on LinkedIn or YouTube. Please follow us there too!
