March 2025 Event

Please join us for our next event with Mitchell Bradford, an EAP lecturer and teacher trainer at the University of Waikato Joint Institute at Hangzhou City University, as he shares his insights on AI use in a TNE setting. This workshop will address issues identified in his own study, as well as explore suggestions and activities to help understand how to use it appropriately and effectively.

October 2024 Event

April 2024 Event

Our (brief!) AGM will be held on 4th April, 2024 at 12:00pm UK time. We will also discuss student perceptions of TNHE as mentioned in Wimpenny et al.’s article, which can be accessed here.

March 2024 Event

November 2023 Event

Please join us for our upcoming event, Negotiating Internationalisation: Chinese Students and Agency. Bowen Zhang (University of Manchester) will share insights from her PhD research into Chinese students’ agency in TransNational Higher Education (TNHE). She highlights disparities between the “prescribed” and the “lived” internationalisation of students and the gap she has identified in understanding how they exercise agency, arguing that TNHE should not perpetuate Westernisation and marketisation solely to attract students. ​

We’re delighted to be able to invite you to our next workshop TNEast: Shifting the Focus Towards Equitability with Nina Tang (Communication University of China), Stuart Burch and Stella Bunnag (Nottingham Trent University). They’ll share how their joint institute is building an equitable partnership through a social and cultural programme, research and feedback. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss how you are building strong ties within your own TNE settings.
